Introducing Zetta 3D for Unity

Launch

The 3D Studio, your library, pipelines and an AI agent that knows Unity, now inside the Unity Editor. Make a model and it lands in your scene.

Until today, using Zetta 3D in a Unity project meant a round trip: make a model on the web, download it, drag it into the Editor, set it up. Zetta 3D for Unity removes the trip. It is a free package that puts your Zetta 3D account inside the Unity Editor — and brings an agent with it that can build the game around the models.

Four windows

Under Window › Zetta 3D there are four, and the header of each links to the others:

  • 3D Studio — every tool from the web Studio, docked: Generate 3D and Smart 3D on Zetta N1, N2.5, Np1 and Np1.5, segmentation, retopology, Smart UV, texturing up to 8K, auto rigging with Unity Humanoid bone names among the options, conversion, and the Image Studio.
  • My Generations — everything you have made, on the web or in Unity. Import a model with one click, or drag it straight into the Scene view or the Hierarchy. Models already in the project are marked In project.
  • Pipelines — the same node-canvas recipes as on the web, run on up to 20 pictures or models at once, with the finished models imported into your project.
  • Agent — the Zetta Agent, below.

Everything you make in Unity is in your library on zetta3d.ai too, and the other way round.

The Zetta Agent

The agent is a game-development assistant that understands Unity the way a Unity developer does. With every message it gets a picture of your project — Unity version, render pipeline, input system, packages, scenes, hierarchy, compile errors — and it reads your scripts and components before it touches anything.

Then it does the work with Unity's own tools. It writes and fixes C#, builds scenes, GameObjects, prefabs and materials, sets any property in the Inspector, runs Editor menu items, enters Play Mode and reads the Console. It looks at the Scene and Game views to check what it built. And because it is Zetta 3D, it makes the 3D models and images the game needs, then imports and places them.

Ask it for "a third-person controller with a follow camera", "spinning coins and a score counter", or "find out why the enemies walk through walls". Point it at things with @, by dragging them onto the chat, or with ⇧⌘M.

You stay in charge

Every change it makes goes on the Undo stack, named after what it did. By default it asks before it deletes anything, makes or processes a 3D model, or runs a pipeline. Ask mode explores a project and changes nothing, and Stop ends whatever it is doing at once. It keeps notes and a brief for each project, and you can read, edit or delete every one of them. More about the agent.

Installing it

It needs Unity 2022.3 LTS or newer — Unity 6 is recommended — and Git. In Window › Package Manager, click +, choose Add package from git URL… and paste the address from the Unity plugin page. The 3D Studio window opens on its own; sign in with your browser and you are done. Step by step.

The package is free, and it is Editor-only, so nothing of it ships in your game. What you make uses your account as it does on the web: credits for models, and your AI token allowance for the agent.

What is not here yet

  • Gaussian splats are listed in My Generations, but Unity cannot use them; they open on the web.
  • The Unity Asset Store. For now the plugin installs from a Git URL.
  • Unreal Engine and Godot. Both are coming. Until then, every model downloads as GLB or FBX for either engine.

The Unity plugin page has the full picture.
